The University of Gondar is awarded in the Heart Convention 2021
The Heart Convention 2021 that took place for 4 straight days has ended. The Convention that was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education highlighted achievements in teaching, research, technology and industry transfer.
When concluding the ceremony awards were presented in the midst of the President of the Federal Supreme Court and the days guest of Honor Meaza Ashenafi, the Minister of Science and Higher Education Dr. Samuel Urkato, other ministers deputy ministers, UoG President Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, UoG Research, Community Service Vice President Dr. Binyam Chaklu and other invited guests.

The University of Gondar has been awarded the HEART CONVENTION 2021 trophy and certificate for being the 2nd ranked out of the top 10 research universities in the country. Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, on his part who is leading the University of Gondar, has been awarded the HEART CONVENTION 2021 Medal and Certificate of Merit for being the third out of the 10 Presidents of Research institutions for his outstanding leadership skills.

In addition to this the best female teacher award was given to the University of Gondar’s own internal specialist Professor Shitaye Alemu. And the Best male teacher was also given to UoG’s own Dr. Workagegnehu Hailu who specializes in internal medicine specifically the kidney. They were awarded medals and were also given a 25 thousand birr award.

The female student of the year was UoG student Kalkidan Woldemariam who studied in the College of Informatics and gained an overall gpa of 3.98. And for males UoG student Getenet Akalu was awarded for his studies in the College of Business and Economics and he gained an exceptional gpa of 4.0. These individuals were awarded 10 thousand birr each and were also given certificates of recognition.
