University–Industry Linkage & Technology Transfer (UIL & TT) Directorate
UIL & TT office established early 2010s. Technology transfer projects have been implemented by academic staff members since 2013 in partnership with various institutions and organizations. The directorate facilitated innovations, intellectual property rights and several technologies to be adopted, adapted, fabricated or innovated. Similarly, numerous institutional linkages are established at local, national and global levels.
Major Roles and Responsibilities of UIL and TT Directorate
Develop working guidelines
Coordinate coordination offices
Strengthen team works and collaborations
Identify potential stakeholders and partners
Reinforce internship and externship programs
Consolidate innovation competitions and exhibitions
Prepare strategic, five years, three years and annual plans
Organize memorandum of understandings or/and agreements
Organize forums, conferences, exhibitions, seminars and skill trainings
Search for grants to support research and technology transfer activities
Follow up technology transfer project starting from the inception to dissemination
Establish data base of the directorate for better documentation and communication
Disseminate information for public using appropriate media on transferred technologies
Facilitate patent, incubation, commercialization, licensing and protection of intellectual
property rights
Create enabling environment at work place and with the staff for effective technology
transfer activities
Establish University–Industry linkages with different industries, institutions and
organization.
Participate workshops, consortium, conferences, trainings, and seminars at local, national
and international level.
Strengthen different centers including farm research centers, Technology Business
Incubation Center (TBIC); Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and
other centers.
Communicate good practices and challenges for better improvements
Monitor, evaluate and report technology transfer and University-industry related activities
with and to appropriate office.
