UoG puts emphasis on grant writing and organizes an all encompassing training
A comprehensive training on grant writing, project management, standard research proposal design, and Software Use (Citavi6 / 7) is being held at the University of Gondar’s Tewodros Campus. The training that is conducted in the postgraduate hall illuminates the process of winning a grant and shows the process in great detail.
International grants are gaining more and more relevance in Ethiopia because of the sizable impact they have in brining life changing and tangible results on the ground. The researchers who win the grants are the researchers of tomorrow who are solving some of the more pressing issues in today’s society. And currently, UoG’s status as a national research institution is one that is creating an atmosphere where staff are willing to do their part to perfect their grant writing skills and the current training is being conducted by some of the University’s brightest intellectuals.


Young and veteran researchers with extensive experience both domestically and internationally are training and sharing their experiences. Dr. Binyam Chaklu, Vice President of Research and Community Service of the University of Gondar, Dr. Getnet Masresha, Dean of the University’s College of Natural and Computational Sciences, Mr. Gebeyhu Begashaw, Assistant Professor of psychology and Coordinator of the Strategic Research Center, Professor Tadesse Awoke Chief Director of Research, Tech Transfer and Community Service (CMHS), Dr. Asmamaw Alemu, Postgraduate Programs Directorate Director and Dr. Lemma Derseh, Research and Publication Coordinator are training the countless instructors.
The training program will end tomorrow, March 26, 2021.
