Anesthesia Program Receives Accreditation from the Ethiopian Education and Training Authority

Our university has long been at the forefront of producing highly qualified professionals who make vital contributions to Ethiopia’s health sector. A key player in this success, the Anesthesia Program, has now achieved a major milestone. Following a thorough evaluation by the Ethiopian Education and Training Authority against nationally recognized standards, the program has officially received accreditation, becoming the first accredited Anesthesia Program both at our institution and in the country.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire university community, and special recognition goes to the leadership of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, the dedicated faculty of the Anesthesia Department, and the members of the accreditation committee for their tireless efforts and remarkable accomplishments that made this achievement possible.

This recognition is especially meaningful as it coincides with two significant anniversaries: the 70th anniversary of our university and the 100th anniversary of its teaching hospital, adding even more joy to this historic moment.

We also express our sincere appreciation to the Ethiopian Education and Training Authority for their constructive feedback throughout the evaluation process, which has greatly supported our ongoing commitment to educational excellence.
