Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
• Be a first-year undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences AND Department of English Language and Literature.
• Demonstrate financial need (verified documentation required).
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.50/4.00
• Exhibit a strong commitment to causes championed by the late professors (e.g., women’s health, public health, medical education).
• Pledge to contribute to these fields in the future.
Scholarship Benefits
• Award Amount: ETB 1,000 per month (renewable annually based on performance and funding availability).
• Number of Awards: One student per memorial scholarship.
• Renewal Requirement: Recipients must maintain a 3.50 GPA and reapply annually.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must:

2. Submit the following documents:
o Proof of enrollment and academic transcripts.
o Financial need documentation.
o A personal statement (500 words) outlining your passion for medicine and health science and how your goals align with the values of the late professor whose scholarship fund you are applying for.
3. Participate in an interview if shortlisted.
Additional Responsibilities of Recipients
Scholarship awardees will contribute to preserving the legacy of the honored professors by conducting interviews with colleagues, friends, and family to document their lives and contributions, and engaging in mentorship or community initiatives related to the professors’ fields.
