The candidates faced external examiners were from Europe (Sweden and The Netherlands) and internal examiners from Addis Ababa University School of Public Health.
This was a highly motivating and exemplary opportunity for other candidates, Schools and the University community as a whole to follow in the footsteps of the institute. As the University approaches its 60th anniversary these historic PhDs in Public Health truly showcase the growth and progress of the University which was initially set up as a Public Health College and Training Center.
During a dinner attended by the candidates, examiners, advisors and invited guests in honor of this historical event, Professor Mengesha Admasu, President of the University said, “This day is a very special day for the Institute of Public Health and the University as we are celebrating it at the verge of 60th anniversary of UoG”.
