What you should know about Dr. Mimmie Watts

Dr. Watts who is originally from Australia, but who has origins from Cameroon, is a Public Health Expert and a leader in women’s health, gender health and international health. During her stay she gave two seminars that dealt with ‘Women, Gender and Leadership’ and as well as pitching scholarship opportunities for I.T staff.
The citizen from Australia came to the University of Gondar to introduce an initiative that will take five I.T staff members to the United Kingdom. The scholarship as she put it ‘will be intensive and will prepare I.T professionals in the African continent to be up to date in the latest technology on the market’.
Dr. Watts also represents VMware Inc, which is a subsidiary of Dell Technologies, which provides cloud computing and platform virtualization software and services. VMware will be selecting African I.T professionals from a number of African institutions to train them in the art of cloud computing. After the 2-3 week training the participants are expected to give back to Africa by sharing their new knowledge with their respective universities. The Scholarship covers all costs including flight, accommodations and entertainment.
