What is the Ambassadors Distinguished Scholars Program?
[widgetkit id=9113]
The past couple of decades has given way to a dramatic rise of university graduates in the country. Many signs lead to progress and expansion at a large scale. Haile Selassie the first university was the first and only higher education institution in the country for some time but now there are numerous universities in almost every state.
With that being said though strict attention has to be given on the way forward and the increase of staff exchange will be crucial to tackle the problems facing today’s higher education institutions. That’s where the Ambassadors Distinguished Scholars Program comes in. The program, which is administered by the US Embassy, IIE and UoG, allows American citizens, who are well experienced scholars in their own right, to stay at the University of Gondar for 6 months to teach, advice, share experiences and even help administer worthwhile leadership in key departments across the campus. Currently there are 3 ADSP scholars at the University of Gondar and in the upcoming months it is likely this number will rise because of its successful implementation.
