Gamo Elders come to Gondar and show their brotherly love
The higher officials, staff and students from the University of Gondar have entered into a pledge of peace and love with Gamo elders today on 18 January, 2020.

The words of the Gamo elders expressed unity beyond all measures and showed their national pride. All those in attendance could be seen expressing their sense of brotherly and sisterly love by engaging through out the entire event.

The President of the University of Gondar shared that the national pride that the Gamo elders show is of great importance to the current climate in Ethiopia and could be the solution to the numerous issues of today.

The Gamo Elders expressed that their fore fathers, to fight our common enemy, once walked for 6 months to reach the battle field. Now today their children have traveled from Gamo to Gondar with greetings of love. On that same note the Elders shared that all of the inhabitants of Ethiopia are close relatives, even brothers, and that peace is the only situation to the conflicts that are being seen through out the country.

The time of their arrival coincides with the Timket holiday which is being celebrated in the City of Gondar like never before. UNESCO has declared the festival a world heritage and people from all over have arrived in the city of Gondar to take part in this holiday of love and peace.
