KOFIH Korea Strengthens their relationship with UoG

The Country Director of KOFIH (Korean Foundation for International Health) Mr. Donghyung Kang visited the University of Gondar on 22 October 2020. The individual who represents a large Biomedical Engineering organization from South Korea reiterated his commitment to strengthening his relationship with UoG. The meeting brought together the President of UoG Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, Administrative Vice President Professor Gashaw Andargie, Academic Director of CMHS Dr. Asmamaw Atnafu, UoG Biomedical Engineer and source of the partnership Mr. Birutesfa Muhabaw, representatives from KOFI and officials from the Ministry of Health.The main topic that were discussed dealt with biomedical engineering at the University of Gondar and a project that is entitled: “Medical Equipment System Strengthening”. The project is divided into 3 sectors which includes:- Providing space for biomedical engineers to deal with machines. In addition, renovate workshops in the process.- Provide Analyzers and show how to maintain them in the process.- Provide training for the machinesThere was a common consensus among those present that future collaborations are much needed and the relationship with KOFIH must be strengthened to incorporate other disciplines as well. *******************************************************
