UoG Continues with its Sensitization Workshop
As it is known, capacity building and mentorship partnership (CBMP) projects has been initiating training sessions for 24 officers who come from the Informatics faculty, Technology Institution, Health Science College and Health Informatics Department from April 11-14 2018. The training dealt with health information Systems at the University of Gondar and formulated thoughts on how future work could improve its function. To implement the training on selected areas, the Health Informatics Department organized the Sensitization workshop which was conducted on April 18, 2018 at UoG.

In the programs attendees included Dr. Desalegn Mengesha president of the University of Gondar, federal health Minister, Amhara region health office, Benshangul region health office, North Gondar health office, and various University delegates.
In the workshop, Dr. Desalgn Mengesha explained that the process of information systems is backward and has to be more responsive in UoG’s Hospital. Nonetheless he stressed it will be a success when UoG jointly works with the Minister of health in the selected areas. Dr. Desalegn stated that thanks to Dr. Binyam Tilahun who is an innovator of the project the Minister of Health will be glad to work work with us and much needed progress will be achieved. In addition, he suggested the responsibility of the project should not only be on the Health Informatics Department, but others should also make every effort to strive for its success.”
When the main objective of the project was brought forward Dr. Binyam presented numerous issues that participates highly discussed. The incorporation of a modern health information system was well discussed and further thought of transferring knowledge from other institutions beyond the selected districts was addressed.
