Officials from the Ministry of Health tour UoG’s Health Facilities
Ministry of Health’s higher officials and health sector stakeholders toured the University of Gondar’s many health facilities. The tour that took place on August 31, 2019 allowed the guests to visit the kidney facilities, the referral hospital and the emergency rooms, among others.

CMHS and Specialized Hospital Academic Director Dr. Asmamaw Atinaw stated that the tours main objectives was to showcase the University’s hospitals work ethic and health services so that stakeholders could look at issues that need to be solved and to reflect on the positive work being done.

UoG’s hospital is one of the biggest and most used health providers in the region. Catering to over 7 million people in the State of Amhara the hospital is sure to have many great features but at the same time pin pointing things that need to be improved can only make it even that much more effiecent. And on that note the tour aimed to create an even better health service for many more citizens.

Moreover, the hospitals health services and the way they transmit information, the digital patients files, pharmacies, cancer clinic, kidney dialysis center and surgery facilities were all toured. Higher officials and partners expressed their thoughts on the things that need to be corrected but also highlighted the good and positive work being done and shared that it was a benchmark for other hospitals.

Furthermore regarding the Referral and Specialized hospital work ethic and health services the higher officials were able to meet and discuss on the way forward.
