
Abyot Endale Gurmu
Mr. AbyotEndaleGurmu has completed his MSc. in Pharmacognosy in2012 at Addis Ababa Universityand his B.Pharm in 2007 from University of Gondar. He is currently engaged on research related to traditional medicine and natural products. He is well experienced in the area of herbal medicine and devoted to natural product research. He delivers course such as Natural Products, Pharmacognosy and Complementary and Alternative Medicine to Undergraduate Pharmacy students. Moreover, he is principal coordinator of the traditional medicine research project and initiator to establishing medicinal plant garden. He has been invited to several national and international conferences and trainings such as International Training Workshop on Biopharmaceuticals (Dec 04-27, 2019, Wuhan, P.R. China), Advanced Training and Advisory Program on Intellectual Property Rights in the Global Economy for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) (Stockholm, Sweden, April 9 to 28, 2017 and Fellow-up Training in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar October 22-28, 2017), Ethnobotany and retrospective treatment outcome study of medicinal plants, Intellectual property of traditional medicine and traditional healers, Clinical trial on herbal drugs, Kampala, Uganda (February, 2013), Annual Malaria Symposium, Bahir Dar, Ethiopia (April, 2014), International conference on Malaria Traditional Medicine, New Drugs and Diagnostics Gondar, Ethiopia (May, 2014).Currently he is a member of Institutional Review Board and Chairman of Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Association-Gondar Brunch. He was Head of the School of Pharmacy (Octo 2019-Nov 202) He was also served as Head of School of Pharmacy (October 2019-November 2021), Coordinator of the Technology Transfer and University-Industry linkage of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (December, 2016-October 2019), head of the Associate Registrar of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (June 2014-October 2016) and as the Department of Pharmacognosy (October 2012-June 2014).
