The Ohio State University’s Global One Health Initiative’s Regional office visits UoG
The Ohio State University’s Global One Health Initiative’s Regional office team visited the University of Gondar recently. The discussions aimed towards an implementation of a forward thinking food security project coin named TARTARE which would also give opportunities for the Regional team to strengthen ties with the University of Gondar.
Those who were among the representatives of the GOHI team were among others Executive Director, Professor Wondwossen Gebreyes, Assocciate Regional Director and UoG former President Dr. Desalegn Mengesha and Dr Barbara Kowalcyk, Assistant Professor. The delegate of the President of the University of Gondar Dr. Gashaw Andargie received them with welcoming remarks as well. A half day seminar was also given to faculty on “Proposal Writing and Grant Management”. The University of Gondar remains one of the key partners of GOHI. The TARTARE project is funded by a $3.39 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID).
