
University of Gondar signs MoU with Makerere University

On December 13, 2024, the University of Gondar (UoG) and Makerere University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic and research collaborations between the two institutions.

Makerere University, one of Africa’s leading universities, celebrated its 102nd anniversary this year, having grown from a technical school to a prominent research institution with 35,000 students.
The event brought together UoG President Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn and his team, alongside Makerere’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, and various college principals.
The gathering featured a discussion focused on sharing experiences and laying the foundation for collaboration in areas such as university autonomy, research, grants, publications, and inclusive education.
