University of Gondar signs a Landmark agreement with the French Embassy to teach the French Language
Today on the 22nd of October 2019 the University of Gondar signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French Embassy, Addis Ababa to open a French Language Center and to insert the French Langauge into various curricula at UoG. Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, the President of the University of Gondar, was hosted by the French Ambassador Mr. Frederic Bontems to sign the agreement.

As it could be remembered the French Attache and other representatives of the French Embassy visited UoG earlier this month and started talks to get the ball rolling.

A few of the objectives of the signed agreement include structure the French Langauge as a Foreign Langauge section in Ethiopia, make the French Language more attractive and support the development of French Language Centers.

French is one of the 6 most spoken languages in the world and this opening of the Center in the Gondar area will help facilitate and develop the tourism sector in the Gondar area and the country in general.
