University of Gondar Signs Memorandum of Understanding with East African Pharmaceuticals Plc
The University of Gondar (UoG) entered into a partnership with East African Pharmaceuticals Plc (EAP), a distinguished pharmaceutical factory in Ethiopia, in a move that underscores the significance of university-industry collaboration. This MoU, which was signed on July 4, 2024, aims to promote cooperation in various areas, including medication supply, student externship programs, and joint research initiatives.
During the signing of the MoU, Dr. Asrat Atsedeweyn, the President of the University of Gondar, highlighted the mutual benefits of this collaboration, including enhanced student externship opportunities, workforce development, research collaboration, and practical experience for both staff and students.
Furthermore, the University of Gondar operates a teaching hospital, two health centers, and a pharmacy, which will now have access to EAP’s wide range of registered medications and products. During the signing ceremony, Mr. Abdulrahman Anam Mudhsh, the General Manager of EAP, expressed his company’s readiness to work with UoG by providing medications at affordable prices, allowing access to their laboratory facilities for student and staff researchers from the university.
This MoU signifies the commencement of a promising relationship between the two institutions, yielding mutually beneficial outcomes through collaborative efforts.
