UoG Celebrates Inauguration of Health Informatics Program Standardized Training Modules
The University of Gondar College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Health Informatics Department held an inauguration of Health Informatics Program Standardized Training Modules on October 28, 2020. Recently, the Department of Health Informatics has been working to prepare training modules that can help to standardize and improve the quality of health information system.
High officials and scholars of the university attended the inauguration. “One requirement that labeled the University of Gondar among Best Global Universities is that quality education፣” addressed the Academic V/President of the university, Dr Kasahun Tegegne, and added that quality education can be achieved with quality and standardized books and modules; hence, these set modules will have great role in such ways.
Dr Biniyam Chaklu, Director for the Research and Technology Transfer of CMHS and Referral Hospital expressed that the newly prepared training modules aimed at standardizing and improving the health information system. The director also said that among the new modules, about four thousand were distributed to fifteen universities in the country.
The newly prepared training modules are eight in type, namely: Health Operations, Health Program, Routine Health Information System I &II, e-Health, Introduction to Health Informatics, Health Data Analytics and Data Quality and Information Use.
The entire module preparation process was achieved by the joint effort of our partners DUP Project, Ministry of Health, and other universities. Beside, the Bill and Melinda gates foundation was recognized for its financial support for the success of the whole job. The inauguration ceremony ended in recognizing those individuals, organizations, and committee members who had remarkable role in preparing the training modules.
