UoG Commemorate one year anniversary of the late PM Meles Zenawi

University of Gondar staff celebrated one year death anniversary of the late Prime Minister Meles Zenawi on Sep 5, 2013. The celebration took place at the newly built campus known as Meles Zenawi Campus at Tseda area which is named after the late prime minister of Ethiopia.
The day is honored by planting about 2000 domestic trees at Meles Zenawi Campus. In his speech, on the occasion, prof. Afework Kassu, Vice president for Research and Community service, said the university will continue its effort in environmental protection and development for a green environment. He also said the university will strengthen its research and community services by working closely with the community.
During the event , its mentioned that some parts of the celebrations like panel discussions and so on will be conducted after a few weeks when regular students join the university for the academic year.
