World Water Day was celebrated by the Institute of Technology
The University of Gondar’s Institute of Technology, Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering Department celebrated the 29th International Water Day, the 28th World Water Day in Ethiopia and the 22nd International Water Day celebrated by our University on April 1, 2021.
In opening the event the director of the institute expressed that the main purpose of the university in such a relevant occasion is to create awareness among the people about solving the problem of drinking water. It could be seen that across the globe that the most scarce natural resource, which were once considered renewable, are becoming exhaustible because of lack of sustainable policies to prolong their life span.
A panel discussion was held after the presentation on the day’s significance by the head of the department was conducted. Some of the day’s agendas included and a number of informative activities, educational poetry and theatrical play were presented in the program.
