THE TRI-PARTY JOINT VENTURE- ONE HEALTH SUMMER SCHOOL INSTITUTE WINS AN INTERNATIONAL AWARD
One Health summer institute which is a tri-party partnership program established between Ohio State University, Addis Ababa University and University of Gondar (UoG) has consecutively been successful in catching international recognition, since its establishment three years ago. This year’s, 2015 Andrew Hesikell honorable mention award it receives recently is one of them. Thus, Uog like its other two partners of the one health summer institute is honored in receiving this international award. It is also proud of being part of this successful partnership program.

As can be witnessed from UoG’s side, the summer institute was effective in conducting as much as five training programs in this season only. A total of 246 participants from various research and academic higher learning institutions of the country ( Gondar, Bahirdar, Jimma, Haramay universities and Alagae TVET college and NARDIK) were able to attend and be certified in the five respective training course programs conducted by the summer school this summer. The course areas and their respective trainees include: Molecular epidemiology (63), International trade and introduction to risk analysis (44), Project management, monitoring and evaluation (45), Environmental and occupational Health(68), and Communications (26).
